Flute Spirit el 14 d’octubre al XXVIIè cicle de música catalana-iberoamericana 2022

La Sala Alcalde Malapeira del Conservatori de Vila-seca serà l’escenari el proper 14 d’octubre a les 20:30 del concert “Flute Spirit” a càrrec de la flautista Isabel Serra Bargalló.

En aquest concert podrem gaudir tant d’obres que formen part del seu disc “Flute Spirit” com de noves aportacions al repertori per a flauta sola i flauta en sol sola que s’han anat incorporant al seu repertori.

Obres d’autors/es com Leo Brouwer, Jonathan Bayley, Benjamin Britten, Claude Debussy, Toru Takemitsu, Katherine Hoover, i molt especialment de compositors/es de les nostres comarques que han dedicat o regalat la seva obra a Isabel Serra Bargalló com Conrad Setó, Carlota Baldrís i Marian Márquez.

Estrena de l’obra per a flauta sola “Estudi 2020”, de Conrad Setó, dedicada a Isabel Serra Bargalló

Video de l’estrena de l’obra per a flauta sola que el compositor Conrad Setó va escriure per a Isabel Serra Bargalló durant el confinament per COVID 19. L’obra va ser creada el primer dia de l’any 2021 i s’estrenà en públic el 14 d’agost de 2022 dintre de la programació del festival de guitarra Guitarfest 2022 de Les Garrigues.

Conrad Setó, “Estudi 2020”, for solo flute

This gem was written for me in the first hours of the year 2021. I can only be grateful to my dear friend and composer Conrad Setó. It is not a study in the academic meaning of the word but more a caprice or a pictorical “équise” in music. Be this year peaceful and fulfilling for all of us.

Solo flute matinée concert in l’Albiol

Here you have some pictures from the solo flute matinée concert at St. Miquel’s church in l’Albiol, near Tarragona, last sunday 27th september. Music from the FLUTE SPIRIT cd could be heard, but also new pieces by Leo Brouwer, Carlota Baldrís and Astor Piazzolla. A beautiful space with a lovely acoustic and a very nice audience!

El proper 12 de setembre acompanyaré els poetes Adrià Targa, Glòria Coll i Carles Rebassa amb obres per a flauta sola en l’acte inaugural de la 2a edició del festival GaiArt. Podreu escoltar en viu algunes peces del meu CD “Flute Spirit” i també noves incorporacions al repertori. Estic emocionada davant l’expectativa de recuperar el contacte amb el públic! Jonathan G. Bayley, Two pieces for alto flute

I am glad to share with you some more excerpts of my latest CD “Flute Spirit”. Here you have Jonathan G. Bayley’s “Two pieces” for alto flute: From Within and Music for Pan.

From the late 1970s and early 1980s Bayley studied at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity (Banff, Alberta, Canada) and it was the jazz flutist Paul Horn who introduced him to the alto flute. The first of the pieces seeks an inner sound, integrated with the breathing, in a meditating mood. The second one, dedicated to Jeanne Baxtresser shows a dance character in its form and articulation, while alluding to the mythological legend of Pan and Syrinx, so closely linked to the flute repertoire.
